What is ADC?
ADC
is a drama club that performs three main shows each year plus a pantomime
every other year. We perform a wide variety of different plays; classics,
drama, comedies, farce and children's plays; from medieval to modern.
We also perform one act plays, take part in drama festivals and have
a program of social events throughout the year.
ADC has three sections: the adult drama club,
ADC Juniors
(
Juniors: ages 11-13 &
Advanced Juniors: ages 14-15) and
Acting Up (age 16 - 18).
If you are interested in theatre, either on-stage, backstage or technical,
ADC is a place where you can have a go at anything you feel like trying,
in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Act, design, direct, stage
manage, operate lights, operate sound, be either on-stage, backstage
or front of house.
ADC are interesting in presenting the most professional productions
possible but the most important thing is that everyone involved has
a great time.
ADC meet at the
ADC Clubhouse.
Do I have to audition?
No.
Not if you don't want to. Once you have paid your money you can take
part in any ADC event and can audition for every ADC show. Every member
must audition for each show they want to be in. You do not have to be
a long term member to get a main part. Most ADC shows have at least
one brand new member in the cast, often in large or even leading roles.
You don't need to have experience. If you are enthusiastic, committed
and right for the part you can be cast even if it is the first time
you have ever turned up.
If you don't want to be on stage and would like to do a backstage or
technical job, all you need to do is turn up and express an interest.
You can try any backstage or technical job, no experience necessary.
Training will be available if you want to try something you have never
done before.
Turn up and take part
ADC has a family atmosphere and is a very enjoyable place to be.
We look forward to seeing you either on-stage, backstage, at an event,
or in the audience at our next production.
